A naturopathic approach to diarrhea:
• eradicate infections with antimicrobial herbs
• remove food sensitivities
• supplement with probiotics
• bulk laxative to reduce frequency and urgency
• carminatives to relieve bloating and gas (and also have antidiarrheal effects)
Note: serious diarrhea may also require the following:
• prevent dehydration with an oral rehydration solution (ORS)
• astringent herbs to suppress diarrhea & arrest bleeding
