What Is It?
A highly absorbable, reduced form of the body's most powerful antioxidant.
What Does It Do?
Primary Uses: Glutathione is a powerful antioxidant that is synthesized by the body, but, metabolic inabilities, chronic oxidative stress and disease greatly diminish the body's stores of this nutrient. Glutathione plays a critical role in neutralizing reactive oxygen species (free radicals, heavy metals, pollutants, peroxides) which are associated with most chronic diseases and aging, recycling other antioxidants, detoxification, and managing inflammatory and cytokine responses that regulate the immune system and downregulate chronic inflammation. S-acetyl Glutathione is the reduced form of the Glutathione which is more stable and better absorbed through the intestinal wall, compared to pure glutathione.
Who Should Take It?
Anyone interested in making a big difference in their health should consider supplementing with Glutathione. Glutathione is one of the most important and yet simple measures for preventing chronic disease and promoting overall good health.
DID YOU KNOW?
In some Asian countries, cosmetics manufacturers use Glutathione in “skin lightening” creams and soaps to promote lighter and brighter skin. Glutathione inhibits the production of the skin pigment melanin thereby preventing darkening of the skin. This is possible because glutathione competitively prevents the amino acid L-DOPA from binding with tyrosinase, halting a key step in the melanin synthesis reaction.
