Maitake SAP is a hot water-extracted medicinal mushroom. Its latin name is Grifola frondosa, but it is also known as "hen of the woods" or "king of mushrooms."
Maitake is an edible mushroom and has been consumed in Asia for thousands of years. For medicinal purposes, there is research using maitake for conditions including HIV/AIDS, hepatitis, diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, weight loss or control, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), cancer including breast cancer, and chemotherapy support.
