• Antisclerotic and antifibrotic
• Respiratory system drainage, especially the lungs
• Anticoagulant, normalising thrombus formation
Corylus avellana (Hazel) buds
Therapeutic actions:
• Corylus avellana has an activity on all metabolisms with exception of sugars. It is one of the polyvalent remedies in gemmotherapy.
• Antisclerotic remedy that will break down sclerotic tissues.
• As a lung drainer it will restore the elasticity of the lung through its anti-sclerotic action.
• It has a polyvalent action on the pulmonary and liver tissue, allowing restoration of its elasticity.
• Anticoagulant properties, normalising thrombus formation.
• Stimulates erythropoiesis and granulopoiesis
• Active on hypotonic sclerotic people.
• Seems to show a polarity with the spleen in traditional Chinese medicine.
0.05 ml (extract 1:20 …. 2.5 mg )
Adults and children > 12 years
• Depending on the patient and the problem being treated, 5-10 drops daily are recommended.
• To start with, 5 drops should be taken; this dose can be increased by one drop daily to reach a maximum of 15-20 drops daily, until the required and stable result is acquired. The dosage is then maintained for the remainder of the treatment period.
• The length of the treatment depends on the health problem and the gemmotherapy remedy used. Normally it is recommended that the treatment be continued for three (3) months. The treatment should last for a minimum of three weeks and can be repeated several times, allowing for example a treatment-free week between each course.
• One or two remedies, the most applicable, can be combined; more are not usually necessary. However, the complexes have the advantage of combining several extracts in one formula, thus facilitating the treatment. A complex may, if considered necessary, be combined with another complex or individual bud extract.
Clinical experience:
• Do not use if the patient is a tuberculosis or mycobacterium avium-intracellulare carrier (rupture of fibrous tissue may convert the carrier state to an active state of the illness).
• Never use in cases of lung cancer (may cause metastasis, unless it is used conjointly with chemotherapy).
• Use with prudence if given conjointly with selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs – Celexa (citalopram), Luvox (fluvoxamine), Paxil (paroxetine), has the capacity to increase serotonin levels
