Used in herbal medicine: to help relieve menopausal and premenstrual symptoms, as well as menstrual pain; to ease nervous tension; and to help relieve muscle and joint pain associated with rheumatic /conditions and neuralgia.

Ingredients

Medicinal Ingredients (per 1 ml): Black Cohosh root and rhizome (Actaea racemosa) 200 mg QCE (1:5)

Non-Medicinal Ingredients: Grain alcohol, Distilled water

Description

Native to eastern North America, Black Cohosh is not only a superb hormone-balancing agent for women, but it's also most valuable for treating rheumatic complaints and conditions related to the nervous system.

Studies show that Black Cohosh is comparable in its effectiveness to Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT). It comes as no surprise that Commission E, the widely acknowledged German regulatory body for herbal medicines, has approved the use of Black Cohosh for premenstrual discomfort and dysmenorrhea, as well as menopausal complaints related to the autonomic nervous system. Black Cohosh has also been found beneficial for the treatment of depression associated with the menstrual cycle or menopause.

Some writers, moreover, refer to Black Cohosh as the “herbal chiropractor” on account of its usefulness against rheumatic pain as well.

Dose

Adults: Take 1-2 ml (30-60 drops) 3 times daily in a little water on an empty stomach.
