Phosphatidylserine-enriched Sunflower Lecithin (Helianthus annuus) (seed) : 565 mg
Phosphatidylserine : 100 mg
Contains naturally occurring phosphatidylcholine (PC), phosphatidylinositol (PI), and phosphatidylethanolamine (PE).

Softgel (gelatin, glycerin, purified water), non-GMO sunflower oil.

Description

Phosphatidylserine (PS) belongs to a class of nutrients called phospholipids, which are fats that play an integral role in cell membrane function and structure.

We need our membranes to filter nutrients in and out, to communicate with other cells, and to regulate cell growth. PS is crucial for the maintenance of healthy cell membranes throughout the body, but it’s most highly concentrated in the nerve cells of our brains.

Unfortunately, our production of PS decreases as we get older, which can lead to cognitive decline. Research into supplemental PS shows that it can support brain function, especially with respect to tasks that require memory, vocabulary, and concentration, as well as improve mood and reduce stress. All of us may benefit from PS because we’re exposed to the free radicals formed from breathing in cigarette smoke, alcohol consumption, environmental pollution, and chronic emotional stress, factors that have a cumulative negative effect on the brain.
