Potassium iodide (KI) is the stable (non radioactive) form of iodine. Orally, it is used as thyroid support, an expectorant, and in fibrocystic breast disease. Topically, it is used as an antiseptic, for diabetic ulcers, and in prevention of mucosal complications in chemotherapy.
