SAMe (S-adenosylmethionine) 400 mg

Description

S-Adenosylmethionine (SAMe) is a methyl donor and is involved in more than 100 biochemical pathways and specific processes. It is indicated for depression, joint health and liver conditions although other conditions can also be improved with SAMe supplementation.

Dose

1 serving (1 capsule) 2-4x daily or as directed.

Potential side effects/Safety

Bipolar disease, before surgery. Caution in pregnancy. Generally well tolerated. Drug interactions exist. SAMe should be taken on an empty stomach. If nausea or heartburn occur, drinking more water may help. As some individuals notice that SAMe is stimulating, it should be taken earlier in the day to avoid insomnia. SAMe has been associated with hypomania and mania.
