NADH is natural occurring reduced (electron-rich) antioxidant coenzyme derived from vitamin B-3 (niacin) found in all living cells and is necessary for cellular development and energy production. It is essential for basic metabolism, respiration, the breakdown of sugars and fats, and the production of ATP, the primary energy molecule in our cells. Each unit of NADH is capable of generating three units of ATP energy. NADH is used for improving mental clarity, alertness, concentration, and memory; as well as in Alzheimer’s disease and possibly Parkinson’s. NADH is also used for improving athletic endurance and treating chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS).
